For quite sometime now I have started to notice that some of my clients would like a shorter session but would still want to receive the same great images and quality of products. That’s why I have now introduced “The Mini Session” to my collections.
Full length Tailored session
Well to understand how I run a mini session, you first need to find out what a full length tailored session looks like…
Firstly we have a 30 minute consultation to discuss what you require from your session. These sessions are unique and tailored to suit you and your family. During your consultation we decide upon a time and location. It is also really important to me to find out a bit about your family; their names, age and any interests they might have.
On the day of the shoot we will meet at an agreed location and then this is where you will have some quality time to relax and have fun with your family. The session runs for approximately 1.5-2 hours but as I’ve said before the sessions are tailored to you and your family. My sessions are child-led – so if baby needs to feed then we can take this nice opportunity for individual portraits of the other members in the family. Essentially the session is flexible and works around your family.
I’ve always been a firm believer in being totally open about my prices, that’s why they are all set out on the website for you to see. There are no hidden nasties, just clear pricing.
The session will be secured in the diary once the session fee is paid in advance. Either £75 for a weekend shoot or £50 for a mid-week shoot. The session fee is to cover my time as your photographer, my travel, editing of all your images and preparing them for your online proofing gallery. This fee doesn’t include any prints or digital files.
Once you have received your secure online proofing gallery you can select your favourite images and then choose which collection you’d like to purchase. Collections start at £149. And that’s it! Simple! Then I’ll prepare your order and have your collection delivered to your door. It really couldn’t be simpler.
A mini session is somewhat different to a full 1.5-2hour tailored session. Mini sessions are limited to only 6 mini session morning a year. They run only during weekdays on specific dates and at specific locations.
During a mini session morning I photograph a number of different families, one after the other. A mini session is a quick, painless 25 minutes, which is great for the members of your family who do not like to have their photos taken (in my case thats my husband!), but a mini session gives you the opportunity to still capture the family altogether – which is the main thing. How often do we have a picture of all of us together – which isn’t a selfie?!
Due to time limitations, mini sessions have a restriction on the number of family members who can be included. A maximum of five people per shoot. E.g. 2 parents and three children.
If you’d like a larger family session you will have to book a full tailored session. This allows for me to have more time to take images of all of you.
What to expect during a Mini Session
We will arrange to meet at a designated location and walk to a special spot where the scenery and light is just perfect. I will then photograph you and your family interacting and enjoying each others company. There will be some directed shots and natural shots in between. Plus I will take individual portraits of you and your children. The pace of a mini session is much quicker – but if you’d like a more relaxed and slower paced session then perhaps the tailored sessions would be better for you and your family.
A Mini session costs £125 per family (with half payable in advance). Your 25 minute session will include 5 digital images saved on a beautifully designed USB and presented in a gift box. Which also includes a print of your favourite image. You are obviously welcome to order more digital images and prints but with no obligation.
The Normal price for this set would be over £200, saving you £99!!
You will receive an email questionnaire and a ‘What to expect’ guide, included information about what to wear, how to brief the children etc.
What if the weather is bad?
If the weather is a bit grey we will go a head with the scheduled session. However, if it is raining we will reschedule for the following Sunday, same time and same place.
If It is still raining – and lets face it, the British weather can be rather wet! – then you will be refunded in full or you can put it towards a full session or gift card.
